made in england

We aim wherever we can to get our products made in the UK. It's not easy and not always possible, but we've managed to find some really great suppliers.

We are proud of the UK's long standing links with the wool industry and use skilled weavers in the Northwest of England to craft our 100% pure wool throws. Finely woven using a unique blend of lambswool and herdwick wool, we want these luxury throws to be something people treasure and pass down to their children and grandchildren. Our Herdwick rugs use wool spun in West Yorkshire and are woven using traditional techniques at Sedbergh in Cumbria.

We use skilled potters in heart of Staffordshire's fine bone china industry to make our classic, smit and woolly mugs. They are made from scratch to our design using china clay from Devon and modellers, mould makers, potters, printers and decorators based in Stoke on Trent. Our fine bone china herdybanks are also hand cast and hand painted in Staffordshire.

Our tea towels and mouse mats are made in the UK and we source all our greeting cards, children's storybook and stationery locally here in the Lake District.

We have to be realistic about manufacturing in today's global economy but we aim to make the most of the UK's assets such as wool and its world-famous traditional skills such as weaving and pottery.
