Mother's Day Flowers & Card

Mother’s Day, or Mothering Sunday, this year is Sunday 31st March, and it’s nearly upon us! What you need to make Herdy Washi Tape Mother’s Day flowers and cards

  • Herdy Washi tape;
  • Coloured card;
  • A6 coloured card;
  • Double-sided tape or glue;
  • Scissors;
  • Buttons;
  • Embroidery thread;
  • Large needle;
  • Bamboo skewers, and;
  • our free flower template.

How to make Herdy Washi Tape Mother’s Day flowers

1. Cut around the outer line of both flower shapes in the free cutting template, giving you two flowers, and trace around the flower shapes onto some coloured card of your choice. Then cut out the coloured card flowers.

2. Take the Herdy Washi tape and cover one flower with the tape as shown. Trim the ends with scissors to get a nice rounded end.

3. Fold the petals of the flowers as shown. Do the same with the second flower.

4. Use some glue to stick the first flower shape to the second, but ensure you place the flowers together so that the petals are evenly spaced. Leave the glue to dry.

5. Once the glue has dried take your embroidery thread, needle, and button, and sew onto the flower shape as shown.

6. Tie the bamboo skewer as shown and secure with two pieces of washi tape, then tie a little knot and trim with scissors.

7. You can make more with different coloured card to match them with our variety of Herdy Washi tape.

How to make a Herdy washi tape mother’s Day card

1. Cut around the outer line of the smaller flower shape, then trace around it onto some coloured card to produce two flower shapes the same size. Cut the coloured card flowers out.

2. Take the Herdy Washi tape and cover one flower shape with tape as shown. Trim the ends with scissors to get a nice rounded end.

3. Fold the petals of the flowers as shown.

4. Use some glue to stick the first flower shape to the card.

5. Do the same with the second flower but place the flowers on top of each other so that the petals are evenly spaced. Leave the glue to dry.

6. Once the glue has dried take your embroidery thread, needle, and button, and sew onto the card as shown.

7. Tie a little knot and trim with scissors.

And voilà! Your Mother’s Day Flowers and Card, using our new Herdy Washi Tape, is complete!
